Cencosud continues to extend in Brazil

The Chilean retailer Cencosud continues to extend and strengthen its presence in Brazil.
Cencosud just bought the small chain Supermercados Cardoso.
Last year, Cencosud has bought the chain "Bretas" for 800 million USD. Previously, Cencosud has bought Gbarbosa, Perini, Super Familia and Mercantil Rodrigues.
The amount of the latest acquisition is not known. The network Cencosud in Brazil overtook the Argentine network brand and has experienced a 148% increase in sales in the second quarter. Brazil now accounts for 22% of sales against 12% in previous years.
Cencosud owns and operates in the supermarkets "Jumbo" and "Santa Isabel", the big department stores "Paris" and "Easy" in Chile. Cencosud is present in Argentina, Colombia and Peru.
