Dole Rumania imports bananas and citrus fruits and plans to export Rumanian fruits before 2 years.
Since its creation in June, 2009, Dole Rumania imports and distributes fruits (bananas, citrus fruits and exotic fruits mainly) for a 35 million euro turnover.
"In approximately two years, we are going to begin to export apples, pears, grapes and potatoes cultivated here" declared the Sales Manager Bogdan Grama. Dole has begun to work on specifications and contacted several local producers.
"When we shall have set up the supply chain, we shall begin the tries and in two years, we shall give the start of the exports. We will also maybe open a factory of juice in Rumania ", declared Grama.
Dole imports in Rumania bananas of Ecuador, citrus fruits of South Africa, grapes, kiwis and apples of Chile. Dole possesses a terminal in the port of Agigea and several distribution center in the country, and is already controlling about 25 % of the Rumanian market.
