According to official data, the value of Vietnamese fruit exports to China during the January-November period fell by 13.7%.
Agrotrade (Agricultural Products Processing and Development Department) said that for the first 11 months of the year the value of Vietnamese fruit exports to China fell 13.7% compared to the same period of the previous year.
All fruit categories are declining in value, such as durian, dragon fruit, mangosteen, coconut and watermelon. This decrease in value is explained by more stringent conditions. China, the largest buyer of Vietnamese fruit, tightened import restrictions that came into effect on May 1, causing prices to fall.
Vietnamese fruit exports to China are estimated at $ 2.08 billion. Thanks to higher exports to the United States, South Korea and Japan, fruit exports in the first 11 months fell only 0.6% year-over-year to $ 3.5 billion , according to Agrotrade.
