14 South African products are allowed to enter Indonesia.
Indonesia allows the entry of horticultural products from South Africa through the port of Jakarta. South African food safety control systems are recognized by Indonesia under a 3-year agreement valid until the 11th of April 2021.
The agreement allows South Africa to export 14 horticultural products to Indonesia: apricots, cherries, grapes, lemons, apples, nectarines, plums, oranges, peaches, grapefruits , pears, plums, pomelos and citrus fruits.
Through the agreement, these horticultural products will be just controlled instead of being subject to health inspections and verifications. The use of the Jakarta port near the Jakarta market allows the exporter/importer to reduce the cost of transport and maintain the freshness of the products.
