The port of Dakar back the dynamics of exports by reducing harbour royalties.
To support the exports of fresh fruit and vegetables, the port of Dakar decided on a reduction of the harbour royalties.
The Port of Dakar applies a 50 % reduction of the harbour royalties to fresh fruit and vegetables. This reduction of royalties answers a request of the operators and will have some benefit effect on Senegal’s export.
According to the harbour authorities, 20 000 tons of horticultural products have already pass through the port, the traffic knew a growth of 30 % for the first half of the year 2010 with a record of 60 % for transit traffic.
The next port investment is a fruit terminal with 5 400 square meter surface and a storage capacity of 45 000 m3.
