Waitrose is investing in a new distribution center to support its growth in the North West.
UK retailer Waitrose is planning a new regional distribution center in Lancashire that will allow the chain to open 100 stores and create 10,000 new jobs over the next three years.
The regional distribution center will be located in Chorley and will serve the entire Northwest region. The 3,500m2 warehouse and offices
will occupy 4,650 m2. The centre and the opening of 100 stores will continue Waitrose's rapid growth in the north of England and Scotland.
The investment is expected to reach £1 billion (1.158 billion euros) over 3 years. The centre will be operational by fall 2012.
