Main region of apricots producer affected by frost.

After exceptionally mild weather in early March where apricot trees flowered 15 days before the normal date and despite the warning from the Meteorological Department, a cold wave with temperatures up to - 6 at night from Wednesday to Thursday literally burnt apricot flowers .

The damage is yet to be determined but there is already talk of severe losses. Especially since the cold should continue to be felt in the coming weeks . The producers had already faced a similar situation in 2010 and 2014 .

Last season, the gel had also damaged the harvest in April 2015 .This region, which cultivates about a million and a half of apricot trees on 100,000 hectares is famous worldwide for its apricots .
