The Mexican market opened for the Colombian cape gooseberry, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Colombian Agricultural Institute, ICA.
After 9 years of negotiations, Mexico joined the list of open markets for its export, including Canada, the European Union, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Chile, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, among others.
It should be noted that in 2021, Colombian cape gooseberry exports increased 16% in value, going from $32.6 million in 2020 to $37.8 million. The volume increased 7% from 7,363 tons to 7,872 in 2021.
