Onion exports volume drop 23.7%

From January to May 2022, Peru exported 60.365.872 kilos of fresh onions for a value of $17.919.333, which means a decrease of -23.67% in volume and -32.44% in value compared to the same period in 2021, according to the Agrodata Peru portal.
The price of onions exported by Peru from January to May 2021 reached an average of $0.34 per kilo, while in the period analyzed this year it reached $0.30 per kilo (-11.76%).
The main destinations this year were the United States with $8.396.609 (47% of the total), Colombia with $4.956.791 (28%), Spain with $3.512.449 (20%).
Other destinations: Chile with $439.235 (2%), the Netherlands with $122.935 (1%), Bolivia with $20.541, and other countries that together accumulated $242.657.
