Canary Bananas : sales remain stable in 2014

The association of producers state that banana sales remained stable in 2014.

ASPROCAN (Asociación de Organizaciones de Productores de Plátanos de Canarias), the association that brings together 5 different organisation of Canary banana producers, announced that the sales remained stable in 2014. With a total of 367 257 tonnes sold, 486 tonnes more than in 2013.

Strong winds hit the islands, and affected the growth of crops and led to the loss of 15 415 tonnes of bananas.
