Copa-Cogeca requires anti-dumping measures

Copa-Cogeca asks from the European Comission to introduce anti-dumping measures against imports of canned mandarins from China.

The remarkable volume of imports from China has a catastrophic impact on European producers. These imports are not required to comply with the rules and obligations as well as the food safety standards applied in the EU. This creates significant differences in terms of production costs (Europe 11-12 euros / kg FOB China 6.30 euros / kg FOB).

European farmers can not compete in such unequal conditions. The anti-dumping measures should be implemented at the beginning of the season, around November-December. Copa-Cogeca urges the European Commission to introduce these measures without delay, otherwise all processed citrus industry will be jeopardized.
