"Weeks with Little Onions" the unprecedented national operation

This fall, onions arrange to meet all consumers for some very special weeks where they can discover or rediscover all the facets of this vegetable star.
From October 13 to November 16, 2014 will take place an unprecedented national campaign entitled "The Week with Little Onions."
The objective of this campaign, initiated by the professional network of onion (the SIPMM Onion), is to introduce consumers to the many facets of this vegetable. Inexpensive, easy to cook, it is the ideal ingredient of our meals with its many varieties (yellow, red, pink, Roscoff onions, sweet onions of the Cévennes ...) and flavors (sweet, juicy, crunchy, spicy ...), but also its nutritional incomparable qualities (low in calories, full of minerals, antioxidants ...).
Grown in a large part of the hexagon (the first producing regions being the center, Picardie, Champagne-Ardenne, Burgundy and Auvergne), France produces about 350,000 tons of onions a year and exports 17% of its production, making it the fourth exporter in Europe.
