A new airport is being built to export vegetables produced in Bangladesh which are in high demand abroad, especially in Europe.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali recently said that a new airport is being built to increase Bangladesh's export capacity. The possibilities are immense for the export of domestic vegetables to countries in Europe and the Middle East.
With this new airport, which solves the freight problem, international standard laboratories are also planned according to the authorities, who point out that other major projects implemented (road network, deep-water port, etc.) will also strengthen the growth of the country.
According to various estimates, the country exported vegetables to 52 countries and worth about 118 million USD, last fiscal year.
