Russia would have lost half of its potatoes harvests and will massively import.
The heat wave is going to make a decline of potatoes harvests and forces Russia to import massively.
According to the estimations, Russia is going to lose near half of its potatoes harvest. The official figure was not announced by the authorities. But the production should be the most low of these last 3 years.
The Belarusian national association of potato fruit and vegetable manufacturers Kartofelplodoovoshch and the Belarusian Republican Union of Consumer Societies Belkoopsoyuz have received an order for the express delivery of 40,000 tonnes of potatoes. The first shippings are planned for Saint-Petersburg, Murmansk and Kaliningrad.
Belarus was less touched by the drought. The expected production will cover widely the internal market and the exports.
