Citrus production exceeds 4 million tonnes

Citrus production is expected to total 4.05 million tonnes.

The Ministry of Agriculture has published the new estimate of citrus production for the region Comunitat Valenciana which forecasts a result exceeding 4 million tons.

Following last September's estimate of 3 894 543 tonnes, the Ministry estimates that 2018/19 production will reach 4 059 382 tonnes, an increase of 4.2%. And 28.1% compared to the season 2017/18 which had recorded a production of 3.17 million tons.

The production of oranges increased by 2%, lemon production by 0.4% and mandarin production by 7.6%.
