The harvest of table grapes has already begun in several regions of South Africa. Compared to last year at the same date, the total volume exported is already 4 times higher.
Several regions in South Africa started harvesting table grapes. Some areas in the north of the country are ahead of schedule and other regions have received rains that are removing problems related to water scarcity.
According to data from SATI (South African Table Grape Industry), the exported volume of table grapes already totals 333,639 cartons (4.5 kg). Last year the volume reached only 76,006 cartons (4,5kg) on the same date.
Exports to the EU markets (187 0355 boxes) and the UK (81 124 boxes) are far ahead of those to Canada (33 456 boxes) and the Middle East (26 424 boxes).
