Production increases, exports also

Production of grenades continues to develop in Israel.

The Ministry of Agriculture predicts a harvest of 60,000 tons of grenades, nearly 16% more than last year, which had totaled to 52,000 tonnes. According to the Ministry, the areas continue to grow and the country will be able to produce 65,000 tons of pomegranates in 2015.

Part of the harvest is exported, mainly to Europe. In 2012 the country exported 25,500 tons of pomegranates, exports this year are expected to reach 30,000 tons, 20% more than last year and 50% higher than two years ago.
