No fruits, no vegetables, no dairy products; producers are launching a nationwide strike to demand higher quotas for foreign labor.
Israeli farmers are launching a nationwide strike to draw attention to the serious shortages of workers.
Since yesterday and for three days, the strike is to protest against the reduction in number of foreign workers allowed into the country.
The government has reduced the number of foreign workers allowed to 26,000. For producers, this new quota has not been completed and is just 22,000 to 23,000 foreigners who came to work this year.
Farmers want to increase the quota to the previous level of 28,000 or at least ensure that the full quota of 26,000 is reached.
