Sales of Organic Fruits & Vegetables tripled

Danish consumers are increasingly enjoying organic products. Sales of organic food products jumped 14% between 2017 and 2018. Sales of Organic Fruits & Vegetables tripled.

 

 

 

According to Statistics Denmark, sales of organic food products increased by 14% between 2017 and 2018, reaching DKK 12.9 billion (1.9 billion USD). Sales of Organic Fruits & Vegetables have more than tripled since 2012, from DKK 1.3 billion (US $ 196 million) to DKK 4.3 billion (US $ 649 million) in 2018.

 

 

 

According to Danish Agriculture & Food Council (DAFC), more and more Danish producers are converting to organic farming. But the growing demand for Organic Fruits & Vegetables can not be fully satisfied by domestic production and therefore leads to an increase in imports.
