Income from Peruvian grape exports exceeded that of the Chilean in 2021

According to data presented in February 2022 by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), in 2021, Peru positioned itself as the first global exporter of fresh grapes in terms of value, surpassing Chile.
Peruvian grape exports totaled $1.26 billion (+22% compared to 2020), while those of Chile generated $928 million.
In terms of volume, Chile continues to lead the ranking of table grape suppliers worldwide, according to the president of the consulting firm Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz Benavides.
He specified that in the 2021/2022 season (as of March 14) Peru exported 64 million boxes of grapes (8.2 kilos per box), while Chile exported 80 million boxes.
