According to Defra data, UK red fruit exports grew by 69% year-on-year.
Defra announced that UK berry exports reached £ 22.1 million ($ 27.5million) last year, up by 69% from the previous year (£ 13m, or $16.2 million).
British red fruit producers sold their products in 34 international markets, up by 55% from the previous year. The Netherlands (£ 6 million or $ 7.4 million), Spain (£ 5.8 million or $ 7.2 million) and Ireland (£ 3.4 million or $ 4.2 million) were the biggest consumers.
Since 2013 the total value of berry exports has increased by £16.8 million ($20.9 million), an increase of more than 300%.
