The 2021/22 Chilean cherry export campaign closed with a new shipment record of 356.385 tons, which was +1.11% higher than the previous campaign, according to the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX).
Asia was the main destination for the fruit, receiving 325.477 tons, which is 1.52% less than last year, due to lower supplies to China.
Other important markets: North America (USA and Canada) with 13.876 tons (+177%), Latin America with 6.504 tons (+21%), Europe with 6.254 tons (+29%) and the Middle East with 274 tons (-18%).
