The " Peasants Rougeline " continue to expand their greenhouses park
To remain competitive in a highly volatile and hyper competitive market, that of " fresh tomato " (first fruit/vegetable consumed after potatoes ) , the company " The Peasants of Rougeline " continues to renew the old greenhouses and replace better tools.
These greenhouses offer performance based on alternative energy (renewable energy, by recovery of heat , biomass, biogas, industrial water ) or cogeneration . They allow to practice Integrated Pest Management and reduce the consumption of water and inputs through recycling.
For tomato crops planned in 2015, the Provence region (departments Bouches-du-Rhône and Drôme) saw the construction of 9.5 hectares of new greenhouses which 4.8 to replace old production tools.
At Pontenx-les-Forges (Landes) , it is 10 hectares of greenhouses which are fed by an incineration factory for household waste. The new heating system allows the use of the energy produced by the factory, and not fully used so far in the form of hot water supply. These 10 hectares will have a production capacity of 5000 tons of tomatoes per year.
