Increased citrus sales outside Europe
MD
This year's citrus season began earlier than usual and the first results are very satisfactory.
The SOIVRE (Servicio Oficial de Inspección, Vigilancia Regulación y del Comercio Exterior) announced that the volume exported outside the European Union is already 23.4% more in volume shipped than last year - 21,720 tons compared to 17,596 last season.
This is supported by an earlier start of the season by more than 10 days. The largest markets are the United States, Switzerland and Russia. Other emerging markets include Norway, Canada, UAE, the Ukraine, Singapore, and for the first time Chechnya.
