In India, the state of Karnataka is the third largest producer of mangoes after Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Mangoes can now be delivered by mail to consumers in Bangalore, the state's capital.
KSMDMC (Karnataka State Mango Development and Marketing Corporation) has arranged to deliver mangoes by mail to consumers in the state's capital, Bangalore.
The service has been in place since April 17. Consumers can order mangoes directly from farmers. Several varieties are available (Badami, Sindhura, Raspuri), the fruits are naturally ripened or come from ripening chambers approved by KSMDMC.
The state of Karnataka, located in the southwest of the country, is the 3rd Indian state producing mangoes, after Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. It is home to nearly 1,000 varieties of wild mangoes and has nearly 100 varieties grown for trade.
