5 000 tons of strawberries were imported to Russia in March 2014

According to the latest news, Russia has imported remarkable amount of strawberries to the local fruit market in March 2014. This number 2 times exceeds February 2014 figures. Therefore more than 5 000 tons of strawberries were delivered to Russian fruit market in March, while the amount of purchased berries in February comprised only 2 000 tons. Due to the official data, around 6,9 thousands tons of strawberries were imported to Russia during the first 3 months. The main suppliers of berries to domestic market of Russia are countries of Euripean Union – 83%. The second and third comes Egypt and China accordingly.
