The EU no longer wants Indian mangoes
FJ
Hard blow for Indian exports, the EU banned Indian mangoes.
After the discovery of insects in some batches of Indian mangoes, the European Union banned the entry of its market from May 1. This prohibition also extends to eggplant and 2 types of squash.
Indian exporters will suffer a significant shortfall, some regions of the country were exporting 25-50% of their production. But this prohibition will result in an increase of available volumes on the domestic market and will profit from the Indian consumers. The prices of mangoes are likely to fall by nearly 50%, according to some professionals.
