Global Cooling hopes to revolutionize precooling with new version of Jet-Ready Precoolers
Global Cooling Inc., precooling and recooling systems developer from the USA, has announced the introduction of its new portable forced air precooler – the Jet-Ready Precooler.
Precooling is an essential part of the postharvest process. It’s been proved that the faster you precool, the more net weight you save. Faster precooling results in produce with a longer shelf life and greater weight, ultimately saving time, energy and money.
The Jet Precooler is a forced air cooling tunnel that provides greater air flow and shorter precooling times than the typical farm-built cooler. The Jet-Ready is new and improved with a Carboline coating, NSF-approved for potable water, and a dial thermometer.
“The necessity of quality precooling is often overlooked,” said Global Cooling founder and president, Jim Still. “The Jet Precooler addresses that head on with unmatched efficiency.” Many packers get too comfortable with the same old precooler they’ve been using for many years. However, the important question to ask is, “How fast does it really precool your produce?” Time and time again, Jet Precoolers have helped growers and packers cool product twice as fast as their legacy units.
In addition to greater airflow, the Jet also offers users plenty of flexibility due to its portability. Jets are added to existing cooling systems and can be transferred to and from different locations. They arrive at their destination preassembled, fully-wired, tested and ready-to-use. “You literally just plug it in and you’re good to go,” said Cameron White of Fresh Start Produce Sales, who’s using Jets to precool bell peppers and cucumbers in Florida. In addition to its cooling capabilities, the Jet is also suited for heating, reheating, thawing, tempering and drying. Global Cooling manufactures the Jet-Ready, Jet-Heavy Duty and Jet-Ripe portable precoolers, as well as the Rapid-Cool 2- and 3-tier high pallet racked precoolers in its factory at the Philadelphia Navy Yard Business Park.
