Copadel: The Best of the Southeast, with More Than 300 Partner Producers

A family-owned business that has been a producer-shipper for two generations, Copadel has been led by Jean-Christophe Bossu since 2018. It markets nearly 5,000 metric tons of zucchini, 10 million heads of lettuce, 2,000 metric tons of table grapes, 1,500 metric tons of apricots, 250 metric tons of asparagus, and the same amount of cherries. “Copadel, Miss Courgette, and N7 are our trademarks,” Jean-Christophe notes.

Large-scale retailers account for nearly 80% of Copadel’s sales, wholesalers for 10%, and the remaining 10% goes to export markets. Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and Germany are the main markets served outside of France. The company holds GlobalGAP, HVE, and Chain-of-Custody certifications. “We are currently pursuing IFS certification at the request of our Swiss and German customers,” explains Jean-Christophe. Copadel has also joined the “Vergers Ecoresponsables” initiative this season, as well as the AOP Pêches et Abricots de France, a national association that brings together the majority of its stone fruit producers and even organizes seasonal promotional campaigns such as the “Apricot Festival.” “We are very satisfied with the initiatives led by the AOP; they help boost consumption and unite French producers,” says Jean-Christophe.
