Almeria increased by 20% productions of biological surfaces

The Ministry of Agriculture announced that the Almeria region recorded an increase in its organic production surfaces.

In 2015 the Almeria region increased by 20% productions of biological surfaces compared to 2014. Its area now total 46,775 hectares (including orchards for olive oil) , or 5% of the Andalucía. The production of organic fruits and vegetables covers 1948 hectares and 175 companies (producers, marketers , packaging , processing) .

The region of Almeria province remains the first by the number of organic production operators, with nearly 20 % of the total counted in Andalusia in 2015
