Watermelons season starts in August in Ukraine

According to the latest information, watermelon active season is supposed to start on the 15^th of August in Southern part of Ukraine. Considering favorable weather conditions, local farmers expect this year harvest to be quite good. Nevertheless sales volumes are lower than last year, as Crimea used to purchase the biggest amount of watermelons. At the current moment this kind of products are mainly sold to retail chains within Ukraine. Moreover local producers plan to export watermelons to European countries – Belorussia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, this year. At the current moment watermelon prices comprise 0,03 – 0,07 EUROkg within domestic market of Ukraine.
