Lemons prices rocket in Russia

At the current moment, prices for lemons soar in fruit market of Russia. According to the latest data, lemons costs have 3 times exceeded previous period figures this week. Local market analysts attribute sudden price knock to decrease of lemons production in Argentina and RSA due to unfavorable weather conditions. Just for the record, Argentina and RSA are the ones which go ahead of all other countries supplying lemons to Russia from June till September. At this moment lemons are available at 3,26 – 4,12 USDkg in Russian fruit market. Based on the recent information, lemons prices continue ascension in Russia, while import volumes tend to decline. Local specialists predict that the situation will change dramatically in October – in line with a start of lemons import from Turkey.
