The season of salads BIO is continuing in Provence!
Faithful to their involvement in the south-eastern salad sector, Idyl start their first campaign as a producer of organic salads and reinforce with Provencal producers their position as a totally committed partner for the marketing of their organic and conventional harvests.
Approximately 20 % of salads marketed this season by Idyl are organic and thanks to the recent certification of their farm in Provence, they have been able to offer a wide range of organic salads, Idyl contributed nearly 80 % of the salad volume marketed by their organic department. Within this department, sales of organic salads increased by 50 %.
Despite a difficult start of the season marked by low levels of sunshine, Idyl have achieved their production and marketing objectives. For several weeks now, the growing conditions in the south-eastern basin have been favorable and allow for regular, homogenous and particularly qualitative harvests. Currently, the season at Idyl is continuing and will last until mid-April.
The most popular varieties remain the blond and red batavia and oak leaf, especially on the French market, which is growing while export sales are down. While the 2020/2021 season promises to end on a fine progression in terms of volumes and quality, the prospects for the next campaign are already taking shape, with the aim of developing national distribution channels and being ready to reactivate the export market as soon as the health crisis allows it.
The Idyl Provence production site is certified by AB, GlobalG.A.P et HVE. The packaging station and logistics platform is certified by AB, IFS Food V6.1, higher level.
