Argentina is the world's third largest exporter of garlic.
Argentina is now the world's third-largest exporter of garlic but in the face of highly competitive international markets, Argentine producers are planning to further improve the quality to produce a premium garlic.
Argentina declined from the 2nd to the 3rd position of the world's largest exporters of garlic. The sector is afraid of not being able to fight the ever lower prices on international markets. This year China is likely to have a production of + 30% compared to the volumes of last year. This will further weigh on the downward trend in prices.
The solution is to be able to differentiate itself by the continuous improvement of the quality and to produce a "Premium" garlic. The main producing areas in Argentina all have an original terroir that gives additional properties to the products. A very high quality asset would be easily marketable in all markets
