CMA CGM and MSC formed an alliance to share their fleets to counter the crisis.
Swiss-Italian MSC, No. 2 global container shipping company, and French CMA CGM, No. 3 worldwide, will pool their fleets in major markets to avoid overcapacity.
The two groups announced the signing of a "major operational partnership" to optimize the use of their fleets and improve transit times
. The agreement covers the markets of Asia to North Europe, Asia, South Africa and all the markets of South America.
They will be able to offer the best of their respective fleets and an expanded port coverage with increased frequency of departures.
