The harvest of onions for 2015 begins with good prospects.

Approximately 62,000 hectares were planted and the weather conditions were favorable. With good rainfall, increased production is expected.The prices obtained for early onions are excellent and the producers hope that this season will be better than the last.

In July, the onion is the third most exported vegetable by Turkey after peppers and tomatoes, despite a decline in the exports figures of around 50% in value and 39% in quantity, compared to July, 2014.
