A recent report by the USDA (U.S. Department of Agriculture) predicts a reduction in the production of apples and pears in New Zealand.
The total apple production ishould reach 511,000 tons in 2013 (531 000 tons in 2012) and exports 305,000 tons (320,000 tons in 2012). Pear production could total 13,765 tons (reduction of 3%) and exports 4,465 tons (reduction of 5%).
