Apricots production will decline of 30 to 40% due to bad weather conditions.
Apricots production will be in decline in Armenia, after late frosts and rains this spring.
In March, frosts had struck about 3000 hectares of orchards. Then, these regions were touched by strong rains. These climatic conditions are going to affect the apricots production.
Gerasim Alaverdian, Minister for Agriculture, plans a decline from 30 to 40 % of 2010 apricots production. Last year, production had reached 85.000 tons.
This decrease is also going to affect exports. Last year, Armenia exported 13.500 tons of apricots towards Russia and European Union.
