Peruvian fresh mango exports beat record this season

From the beginning of the 2022/2023 campaign until week 15, Peru exported 249,314 tons of fresh mangoes, informs the Peruvian Association of Mango Producers and Exporters (APEM).
These figures represent an increase of 7.3% compared to the 232,275 tons exported during the same period of the previous campaign. APEM highlighted that this volume is already a record for Peruvian fresh mango exports, even though the campaign is not yet over.
Europe remains the primary market, receiving 132,731 tons of the said fruit and accounting for 53.2% of the total exported. However, this figure represents a decline of -6.31% compared to the 141,667 tons dispatched in the same period of the previous campaign.
The United States is the second most important destination, receiving 92,632 tons, an increase of +42.5% compared to the same period of the previous campaign when 65,008 tons were shipped. This market accounts for 37.17% of the total.
Canada receives 9,982 tons, and other destinations account for 13,969 tons.
In terms of frozen mango, during the same period of the 2022/2023 campaign, Peru exported 40,403 tons, which is a decrease of -23.32% compared to the 52,689 tons shipped during the same lapse of the previous campaign.
