The contact group discusses about the outside EU export.
The contact group with Spanish, French and Italian professionals for apple considered the Community market situation and development of exports to countries outside the EU.
At the meeting held in Rome, the group noted the difficulty of access to the third country markets.
The major EU exporters are Italy with 827,994 tons in 2010, Poland with 724,098 tons and France with 665,314 tons. Spanish exports reached 103,332 tons of apples.
Another issue addressed in the contact group has been the standard apple marketing, stressing the need to improve the current rule.
The next meeting of the Contact Group will be held on April 29th in Rome.
