Africa wants to join the organic market

Development of the organic product for the African agriculture which wants to have its place on the exports markets.
With a growth estimated from 5 to 10 % a year for the next three years, the raise of the organic farming in the developed countries represents an opportunity for the African agriculture.
That’s why, the FAO set up a program estimated at 2,4 million dollars to help African farmers to make their reconversion in the organic and to help them to answer the necessary certifications of their products and the requirements in export towards industrial nations.
The program concerns 5000 farmers in Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Ghana, Senegal and Sierra Leone.
" The project helps the local farmers who can now sell their products on the international markets to good prices, while they could not even dream about it, three years ago before ", indicates the FAO.
