Very satisfactory result for banana exports

Cameroon's exports of the 2014 first semester are much higher than last year.

According to Assobacam , the association of banana producers in Cameroon , exports for the first half of 2014 totaled 132,555 tonnes ( 2013 totaled 255,079 tonnes). 

 

The most important exports took place in May , with a total of 27,448 tons , against just 14,000 tonnes for the month of June, the month the least beneficial of the semester.

 

This is the PHP Company (Society of Upper Penja plantations ) , the Cameroon subsidiary of Fruit Company Marseille ( France ) who exported the largest volumes with 55,518 tonnes in the first half . PHP operates with approximately 3,000 hectares of banana plantations and claims about 45% of Cameroon's production.
