Live from medFEL, Perpignan: Innovation for fruit excellence, Royal strategy

The Spanish producer ROYAL has always put innovation at the heart of its strategy to offer tasty fruit. With scientific tools, a favorable climate, a perfectionist team, ROYAL obtains the fruits of excellence, to be discovered on stand C 019.


From the beginning, in the 1970s, Royal signed exclusive contracts and agreements with world leaders in genetic research, in North American universities, California and Florida, as well as in prestigious private organizations such as Zaiger and Bradford Genetics.


This strategy started with stone fruits (nectarine, peach, apricot, plum) and was then applied to white asparagus and finally to berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries).


Royal selects the best places for its crops and combines the different climates with the most efficient use of natural resources to obtain the best results in production.



Berry production continues to grow, with 9 500 tonnes of blueberries (Morocco, Spain, Portugal), 13 900 tonnes of blackberries and 1 400 tonnes of strawberries.
