Polish apple production will be lower by about 500,000 tons this year.
Anticipation of a lower harvest this year in Poland.
Miroslaw Maliszewski, Vice-Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee of Agriculture, in an interview given by the Newseria Biznes media, believes that the Polish apple production could be lower by almost 1/6 compared to last year.
500,000 tons of apples equivalent to -16% will be missed compared to 2013 production which reached 3,000,000 tons. These losses are consecutive to bad weather conditions (frost in early spring) and certain diseases that attacked fruits.
