Less strawberries but better prices

This season, the harvest is lower than in 2013. The producers obtain very satisfactory prices, almost double the previous year, and domestic demand especially in large cities is excellent. The quality and flavor of strawberries in this region and the diversity of varieties make them a hot commodity.

Despite the competition from the domestic market, strawberry however remains the most exported Turkish fruit in April, especially to Russia, Romania, Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
