Better export progressions for avocado and blueberry.
New increase of Peruvian exports in the first quarter of 2018. Result of the work of the Peruvian professionals to innovate, diversify the national supply and invest in the improvement of the production processes, according to ADEX.
ADEX (Asociación de Exportadores) reports that Peruvian agro-exports grew in the first quarter of 2018 by 22.6% in value compared to the same period last year.
Among the exported products, the best performance goes to avocados who went from $23.8 million in the first quarter of 2017 to $49.9 million in the first quarter of 2018 (+ 109%), and to blueberries that went from $15 million to $48.5 million (+ 228%) over the same periods.
According to ADEX, participation in international fairs (Thaifex, Expoalimentaria, Fruit Attraction ...) and trade missions around the world are important in helping to diversify markets.
