FJ
The difference between the volumes exported this season than last year could reach 95,000 tons.
The Department of Agriculture now expects 485,000 tonnes of citrus exported under the 2014/15 campaign . A decrease of 95,000 tonnes from 580,000 tonnes in the 2013/14 campaign. Production is expected to reach only 1.9 million tonnes this year against 2.2 million the previous season.
Adverse weather conditions have affected production regions ( Gharb , Souss , Haouz ) .But Moroccan exports have improved their position in the European markets outside the EU. The Russian market has absorbed over 50 % of the clementines volumes, USA and Canada 25% and the EU 20%.
