A decline in yields associated with the decline in surfaces have resulted in a drop of production by 15 000 tonnes compared to 2012.
With an estimated production down by 5%.
The services of the Ministry of Agriculture estimated the French production to 272 000 tonnes, - 5% over the previous year. The delay in the production and timid demand at the beginning of the season have allowed fluidity of the market.
In June, the production came essentially from regions of southeast. In July it adds in the regions of the Atlantic seaboard which will be the main source of supply in August. The offer will be in a slight decline compared to July 2012 but higher during the month of August.
Delay of 2 to 3 weeks, all regions reported a tightening of the period of peak of harvest in July and August and volumes declined steadily in September.
