Mercamálaga should extend on 90,000 m2

Mercamálaga will extend its facilities on more than 90,000 m2.

The Council has a land reserve of 91,129 m2 to build in the near future new facilities to increase the size of the market. The project is expected in the year.

Currently, the site has a rate of 98% occupancy; the extension will create a dedicated market for meat and expand the area devoted to fruit and vegetables.

In 2010, Mercamálaga had a total turnover of 859, 8 million. Mercamálaga has sold 176.6 million kilos of fruit and vegetables.
