Citronex seeks to import African bananas

The Polish society Citronex now plans to add Africa to its sources of bananas.

Citronex is in talks with Matanuska , the largest banana producer in Zimbabwe. Citronex currently imports most of its bananas from Ecuador in the amount of approximately USD 200 million , plans to purchase local bananas for a total of USD 50 million.

Citronex is one of the largest distributors and importer of bananas in Eastern Europe and has a network of hypermarkets in Poland , the Czech Republic, Lithuania and Germany.
